From a Program Parent:
Spirit Sessions not only provides a great physical outlet for my son, but a safe place where he can relate to other kids and adults male mentors to enrich his life without a father figure.
— J.R.
From a Program Partner:
Over the years, I have witnessed many Girls Court participants experience and transform through the course of this eight week program. SSS is multi-dimensional in its approach as it not only provides an opportunity to participate in a pro-social activity, surfing; it also provides connection to healthy women role models, a deeper appreciation of aina and a path for leadership development.
— V.L.
From One of Our Volunteers:
I am volunteer mentor at the Surfrider Spirit Sessions for girls and I really believed that this organization is giving the mentees so much support, encouragement and tools to deal with everyday life. More organizations like this are needed on this islands. This program creates a space for vulnerable and at-youth to have positive roles, to learn about values, care for the environment, and learn surfing which can provide them a safe space to cope with life.
